Weaving together the fabric of positive change for a greener future.

Our Mission

Pennsylvania Fibershed is a nonprofit organization dedicated to connecting, empowering and rebuilding the fiber and textile communities in Pennsylvania. Our mission is to build a more sustainable, equitable and circular future for textiles and the environment through educational programming and industry development.

Our Vision

We envision a Pennsylvania where the fiber, fashion and textile industries operate in harmony with nature, prioritizing circular economy principles and supporting local communities. Through our efforts, we aim to restore Pennsylvania's once booming textile economy, creating a thriving, interconnected network of individuals and businesses committed to ethical and sustainable fashion practices.

What We Do

Our History

Pennsylvania Fibershed is an affiliate of Fibershed, a non-profit organization that develops regional fiber systems that build ecosystem and community health. PA Fibershed originated from the Clothing and Textile coalition under All Together Now PA. Founded in 2019 by Judy Wicks, its mission was to unite Pennsylvania's rural and urban communities to build local self-reliance for basic needs. The organization's entity was handed over to Leslie Davidson and Rachel Higgins when Judy retired, allowing them to continue the work around fashion and fiber. In December 2023, they subsequently rebranded it as PA Fibershed.
