Join us for a virtual Lunch & Learn session with Jennie Pinho, an environmental scientist and educator, as she unpacks the basics of PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) aka forever chemicals—a class of persistent, human-made chemicals linked to health and environmental concerns.
In this session, you’ll learn:
What PFAS are and why they’re called “forever chemicals”
Where PFAS are commonly found in everyday life
The impact these chemicals can have on health and the environment
How PFAS are used in the textile and fashion industries
What individuals and communities can do to reduce their exposure, & more!
This is a great opportunity to build your understanding of a growing public health issue, and how it connects to the clothes we wear and the products we use every day.
