Meet The Makers: One Another Fiber Mill

Introducing Meet The Makers!

We’re excited to present Meet the Makers, a new monthly virtual Lunch & Learn series spotlighting the people and businesses shaping our regional fiber economy.

Each month, we’ll feature one member and their work, offering a behind-the-scenes look at their craft, business model, and the realities of working within a regenerative textile system. These informal, midday conversations are designed to educate, inspire, and connect our community of fiber producers, designers, students, and textile enthusiasts. Bring your lunch, log in, and learn directly from the makers building a more resilient fiber future right here in Pennsylvania!

Our First Feature: One Another Fiber Mill

We’re kicking off the series on March with Laura Fitzmorris, owner of One Another Fiber Mill, a Pennsylvania-based fiber mill dedicated to regional processing and thoughtful production.

In this session, Laura will share her journey into fiber milling, what inspired her to start the business, what it takes to operate a mill, and the day-to-day realities of processing fiber. From raw fleece to roving to finished yarn, she’ll walk us through the technical and logistical aspects of small-scale fiber processing, reflect on the opportunities and challenges of supporting farmers and brands within a regional system and the partnerships and collaborators who make the work possible.

Whether you’re a fiber producer curious about processing, a designer interested in sourcing regionally, or simply fascinated by how fiber becomes yarn, this conversation will offer valuable insight into a critical part of our textile ecosystem.

Date: March 18
