🌾 Test Your Fiber Knowledge: Take the Quiz 💡
Have a favorite sweater with a hole or a pair of socks that needs some love? Learn the art of darning and give well-loved knits a new lease on life!
In this hands-on workshop, participants will learn techniques for repairing holes and worn areas in knitted garments, helping extend the life of their clothes and keep textiles in circulation.
Darning is a versatile repair technique that can also be used on denim and other woven fabrics. It's a valuable skill for keeping favorite pieces in use rather than throwing them away. Since it's December, this workshop will focus on repairing knits, from sweaters with holes to well-worn socks.
A darning kit can be added to registration at checkout. Each kit includes a darning loom, hand-sewing needle, and rubber bands. Those who already have a darning loom and tools are welcome to bring their own.
Participants are encouraged to bring a knitted item they'd like to mend so they can practice directly on their own clothes. For those without something in need of repair, a practice piece will be provided.
Come ready to slow down, learn a new skill, and discover the satisfaction of making something well-loved wearable again!
